Special Adobe Upgrade Offer

I'm not in the habit of promoting sales for Adobe but right now they're making a great upgrade offer.  Until May 6, if you purchase or upgrade to Adobe's CS 5.5 Production Premium Suite you'll also get to upgrade to CS 6 at no extra charge.  The suite includes:
  • Adobe Premiere® Pro CS5.5
  • Adobe After Effects® CS5.5
  • Adobe Audition® CS5.5
  • Adobe Photoshop® CS5 Extended
  • Adobe Illustrator® CS5
  • Adobe Flash® Catalyst™ CS5.5
  • Adobe Flash Professional CS5.5
  • Adobe Encore® CS5
  • Adobe OnLocation™ CS5
Additional components:
  • Adobe Dynamic Link
  • Adobe Bridge CS5
  • Adobe Device Central CS5.5
  • Adobe Media Encoder CS5.5
The CS 5.5 is also slightly discounted now, so if you've been waiting this is probably a good time to pull the trigger.

For what it's worth, I don't shill for Adobe and if you've read previous posts, I've dished my share of criticisms at the company when I think it's warranted.

For my money, I'd recommend Videoguys.com if you want to upgrade.  The staff is knowledgeable and their blog includes plenty of free information to help you build a rockin' edit station.  (Also they're offering a post-NAB special.  Enter the coupon code "NAB5OFF" for an additional 5% savings.)

Finally, if you're wondering what's to come in Premiere Pro CS6, here's a link to a quick review from the folks at StreamingMedia.com.  To me it appears that the interface will be updated to speed up editing and that adjustment layers will be implemented - great idea.  I don't find the current GUI slow but event videographers will appreciate any increase in speed.
