While camcorders have typically incorporated CCD's since the demise of tube cameras decades ago, the adoption of CMOS chips in camcorders is on the rise due to cheaper manufacturing costs and lower power consumption.
However, CCD's and CMOS video cameras don't always create similar results. To illustrate the differences, here's a YouTube video produced by formaset, and shot from a moving motorcycle.
As you can see, for those shooting conditions a CMOS camera is a lousy choice.
